How We Met
One cold November morning, 2004, around 4am, Kris's ambulance company was dispatched for a subject in pain. Being her cheery self, Kris dropped her patient at the doors of Lankenau Hospital. She was confronted by a (much too cheerful for 4 am) Emergency Department Tech who immediately wanted to show off pictures of his 1-year-old son. Kris and Steve saw each other several times in that ER until Steve left Main Line Health for a position in the Philadelphia Fire Department. They started dating in January of 2007.
How He Proposed
After dinner on December 19th, one day shy of Kris's 24th birthday, Steve sat her down for "birthday presents" in front of the fire. New York had just been hit with 24 inches of snow. First, Steve gave Kris a photo album and handed Kris's cousin a camera. Then Steve handed Kris Waterford Toasting Flutes. He asked Kris's cousin to hand Kris's father a bottle of Champagne. He headed Kris a box - when she unwrapped it, it was a box from TD Bank - the box that checks come in. Kris was confused. When she opened it, she saw a pink t-shirt. It was a Philadelphia Fire Department t-shirt, but instead of a company name, this shirt said "Bride to Be" When Kris looked up, Steve was on one knee with a beautiful ring.
